How long does it take to heal Palmoplantar Pustulosis?
There’s a lot of information out there how to boost your immune system and how to heal your self from various autoimmune diseases, and I totally understand it can be confusing and difficult who to listen to and where to start. But to boost the immune system is not about tactics such as trying various supplements and lotions and potions which might be helpful but after a while has no effect. Trust me I’ve been there and tried most of them.
To get well from an autoimmune disease you have to understand the whole system. There are a many little pieces to it and the trick is to see how they all fit together for your body to heal as fast as possible. When my doctor told me I got PPP I was very eager to try anything that might cure me from this horrible chronic skin disease which made me to randomly try to boost my immune system. I tried probiotics for a couple of months and later vitamin D3 to move on trying out biotin, as I had read somewhere that biotin had successfully healed people with Palmoplantar Pustulosis. I want to write about 4 areas to focus on that are particularly important for you to be able to heal from Palmoplantar Pustulosis. It doesn't matter if you've been suffering with PPP for a long time or if you recently got diagnose. These are certain cornerstones that you can control over and reverse PPP. I discuss all this in more detail I my book How To Treat Palmoplantar Pustulosis Naturally in 90 days.
1. Your Gut Health
Due to all the processed foods we eat today which are high in sugar and gluten our gut flora has become unbalanced. This is also the case after being on a course of antibiotics or several courses where the antibiotics will not only kill of the bad bacteria but the good ones which are crucial for our immune system to function properly. The focus should be on healing your gut by stop eating gluten and sugar for your body to repair a leaking gut. When the gut is healed and no longer is leaking it’s time to give the good bacteria a chance to take over the intestines. By following one of the healing diets you are creating an environment where the good bacteria will thrive. Do this by supplement with good pro and probiotics as well as nourish your body with a diet rich in vitamins and minerals. A good way to do this is stop eating sugar, processed foods, gluten and to increase your intake of natural fats, vegetables and organic meat. 2. Biofilms Biofilm formation is this kind of slimy matrix which bacteria create and reside in to protect themselves from being destroyed. These formations by good bacteria is harmful but not much so when created by the bad gut bacteria. An unhealthy gut biofilm, created by the bad bacteria and bugs, reduces nutrient absorption, which results in our immune cells are not getting all “the food” they need to function properly. These biofilms also cause inflammation, store toxins like heavy metals. This means as long as the biofilms exist in your body it doesn't matter if you take vitamin supplements as your body will not absorb most of them anyway. In my case I started to lose my hair due to zinc deficiency according to my doctor. He was able to diagnose this just by looking at my nails which were covered in white dots and my dry, brittle hair that was falling out. There are natural ways to remove biofilms such as apple cider vinegar, but the most effective way is to drink colloidal silver water. I drank table spoon daily during my healing process which took a little less than 3 months. 3. Diet and vitamin supplements. It's important to nourish your body as well as stop feeding your gut with food that causes inflammation. The best diet to be on is a diet that consist of local produced food which does not come in a package. I believe we are evolutionary adopted to eat whatever our forefathers ate depending on where in the world you live. The most healthy people in the world are the Icelandic and Ethiopian people. There diets differ immensely but what they have in common is they don’t eat processed foods, nor sugar and very limited gluten. If you eat a healthy diet there are no need to supplement as you are getting all the vitamins and minerals from the food you eat. But when you are sick with an autoimmune disease your body are not able to absorb the vitamins and minerals properly hence the importance of supplementing. Some of the vitamins we need are produced by our gut flora and only consumed in a small amount from our food and should be supplemented daily. These are vitamin D3+K2, biotin, zinc, magnesium, colostrum, chlorella, probiotics. 4. Rest and sleep Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being, but everyone’s individual sleep needs vary. In general, most healthy adults are built for 16 hours of wakefulness and need an average of eight hours of sleep a night. However, some individuals are able to function without sleepiness or drowsiness after as little as six hours of sleep. As Chris Kresser are saying in his blog, “Sleep is absolutely essential for basic maintenance and repair of the neurological, endocrine, immune, musculoskeletal and digestive systems. The hormone melatonin naturally increases after sundown and during the night in a normal circadian rhythm, which increases immune cytokine function and helps protect us against infection. (This is why you’re so likely to get a cold or flu after not sleeping well for a few nights.)” I can't stress enough the importance of de-stressing. Everyone has to find a way that works best for them. For me walking works and I see it as form of relaxation, just to be outdoors in the fresh air with my own thoughts. Yoga also worked for me. Be good to yourself! Healing is all about the lifestyle you lead and there are no quick fix solution such as a special ointment or a specific type of vitamin supplement that will cure you for life. Food, exercise, mindset, daily stress are all connected, and as long as we live a healing lifestyle, remission will happen and doesn't need to be temporary at all, it can last a lifetime. Do consider reading my book where I dig deeper on the subject. I'm confident you will find it helpful. Åsa Kärrman

I just found your site and like it. I am 76 female and have had psoriasis on feet and hands 3 -1/2 years. It came on me suddenly and very severe and painful. My feet cracked and bled so bad I could not walk, had to crawl and wear gloves 24/7. Went to many Doctors and did all the meds, creams and lotions....did not help.

I developed ppp 3 years ago at 42. One day a spot showed up on side of my foot. It itched to death. Had a biopsy and bam ppp. I didnt understand why? i worked out 3/4 times a week. I thought i ate a good diet. I 1st went to creams then all the different shots ie humera etc etc when doctor finally said these will never work for ppp. I slowly developed psoriasis on legs, grown area, and scalp. Im MISERABLE. Now i take Cyclosporine because my skin was SO angry. A compound cream to rub on feet because of the pustules that COVERED my feet cause me to be in so much pain and seratin. I am seeing some positive results.. about 60 % but for how long? I want to work out again. Ive gained 20 lbs because hurts to bad to stand.I need advise.... diet. type of exercise... should i do a detox then introduce foods back slowly to see what triggers? if so which one? what probiotic is best to take? is apple cider vinegar daily good for me? should i be taking a pre biotic also.. i read garlic and Kumon are good also. Help... i dont know where to start!

I got PPP from the foam you use to fill holes around doors and windows. It's a 3m product. My Dr. Has me on Acitretin, Eucrisa, and Talz. I have been sick for over ten years but am clear with this combo. Screw homeopathic stuff. I can walk again!!

I have ppp I've had no symptoms for about a year. I make a large tea pot of 100 grams of grinded bitter melon aka bitter gourd you can get it at any Asian market I also put 40 grams of grinded ginger 1/4 cup hisbiscus 1 heaping tablespoon of dried peppermint leaves and of course to help with the very bitter taste I add 2 heaping tablespoons of organic stevia leaves..not only does it get rid of ppp lots of vitamins, minerals antioxidants, antibacterial, fights inflammation, and helps you lose weight, also gets rid of the need for any diabetic medications..you can look up each ingredient on line, type what is the medicinal benefits of bitter melon, and so on you will be amazed at what you will find... I'm no longer on any pharmaceutical medications or over the counter medications..I use avocado oil for my hands and feet for moisture..works great never been so happy..hopefully you'll give this a try..good luck

when you say you grind bitter gourd and ginger, are you talking about just mincing fresh bitter gourd and fresh ginger very fine and then putting it in the pot or you talking about some dried bitter gourd and Ginger that you grind,?

I find that soaking your feet in 1/2 apple cider vinegar and 1/2 water for 45 minutes to an hour once per week helps immensely.
